Orphanages

Since July 1, 2009, all of our children have been living together on our own property. They live there in two houses, divided by gender. There they are in good hands! Now there are no longer any lease costs, no longer any trouble caused by dubious landlords, and most importantly, everyone is safe! We even have enough room to grow our own fruits and vegetables (e.g. pineapple, passion fruit, sweet bananas, plantains, tomatoes, eggplants, spinach). The children and teenagers help to take care of the crops, thus learning to bear responsibility. It is one of our highest concerns that a sense of responsibility is instilled into the children.

We have finished building a cage with a outdoor-enclosure for our chickens. The older boys have gone to great lengths to help out with its construction. Now, our harvest will hopefully be more abundant and we will be a little more professional.

We have made substantial progress in providing a safe drinking water supply by having our own well.
